英國神秘街頭藝術家Banksy作品展首次登台

Exhibition titled 'Banksy: An Authentic Rebel' coming to Taipei, March 16-24
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The internationally renowned and famously mysterious street artist, Banksy, will have works showcased in Taiwan for the first time in 2019.
The Phillip’s company will be hosting a gallery of some of the British artists’ iconic works from March 16-24, at an exhibition entitled “Banksy: An Authentic Rebel.”
The exhibition will take place at the Bellavista Gallery in Taipei’s Xinyi District, and according to Hypebeast will showcase 25 of Banksy’s stencil works including Chequebook Vandalism (2003), CCCP (2003), and the famous Girl with Balloon (2004).
Cindy Yen, the General Manager of Philips Taiwan is quoted by HypeBeast.
"Banksy is one of the most famous street artists in the world, and we are delighted to present his works to art lovers in Taiwan. Following the booming art scene in Taiwan since last year which captures the world’s attention, we would like to present this rare exhibition to Taiwanese collectors.”
According to Philips, Banksy was born in Britain in 1975 and has successfully maintained their anonymity despite becoming the world’s most famous contemporary street artist.
There is speculation that the artist may be a collective of artists, rather than an individual. The artist’s prints must be authenticated by Banksy’s official committee called “Pest Control.”
There is the possibility that the gallery in Taipei will defy expectations of the public and perhaps even the organizers. It may also herald the appearance of a unique Banksy work somewhere in Taiwan over the coming weeks.
