Normally, a single-journey ticket for the gondola costs NT$70 (1 stop), NT$100 (2 stops), or NT$120 (3 stops), respectively. During the period for specials based on City or County, visitors from designated municipalities can present their ID documents to access the NT$50 per ride service at any of the gondola stations.
An individual could save up to NT$140 for a round trip spanning three stations, said the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC).
The program, first rolled out in 2017, has been well received among the public and attracts an average of 30,000 passengers a year. Individuals are invited to explore the mountainous landscape of Taipei on the Maokong Gondola by taking advantage of the offer.
Note: The program is not applicable for Taipei City residents, who already enjoy a single journey ride at NT$50.
With a refundable deposit of NT$500, they can also rent an audio guide device, or simply access the service via a scan of a QR code on a brochure at any information counter. To learn more, visit the Maokong Gondola website or call TRTC 24-hour hotline at 02-218-12345.
