Taiwan's J Team reigns supreme in Arena of Valor Int'l Championship tournament

J Team, representing Taiwan’s GCS Division, were named the AIC Champions on Dec.16 in Bangkok, Thailand


TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – After two weeks of fierce competition in the 2018 “Arena of Valor International Championship” (AIC), Taiwan’s J Team, which is sponsored by celebrity Jay Chou (周杰倫), was awarded with the tournament’s championship trophy.

J Team, representing Taiwan’s “Garena Challenger Series” (GCS) Division was recognized as AIC Champions on Dec. 16 in Bangkok, Thailand where the tournament was held.

The team maintained top performance throughout the two week event, with an impressive seven match winning streak the final day of the competition, overcoming Vietnam’s Team Flash, and fellow Taiwanese team “ahq E-sports club.”

J Team received a cash prize of US$250,000 dollars for their victory. J Team member Neil (張竣盛) was also recognized with the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.

Following their victory, J Team will remain in Bangkok for a few more days until Dec. 22, to participate in a winner’s open gaming event, where fans can interact with the champions in the game world, reports UDN.
