'Taiwan Can Help' slogan posted on trams in Poland to coincide with UN climate change conference
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- Trams in Poland have been outfitted with a banners the read "Taiwan Can Help" to coincide with a United Nations climate change conference being held in Poland.
The Polish electric trams have been painted red and the full banner reads "Combating Climate Change Taiwan Can Help," which is directed at attendees of the COP24 U.N. Climate Change Conference 2018 currently being held in Katowice Poland. The aim of the talks, which have been billed as the most important climate conference since the Paris 2015 Agreement, is to devise an end-of-year deadline for agreeing on a rule book on how to enforce action to limit further warming of the globe.
In response, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) posted the following tweet yesterday (Dec. 5):
While the whole world is discussing how to combat climate change at #COP24Katowice, I’m proud to see trams in Poland carry our #TaiwanCanHelp slogan, showing #Taiwan’s determination to building a better tomorrow! https://t.co/WTtLMb9zvx pic.twitter.com/uU57wPlTpW
