'Autumn Tiger' to roar with 30-degree balmy weather in Taiwan this weekend

'Autumn Tiger' set to pounce over the weekend in Taiwan with high climbing to balmy 30 degrees

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) -- A northeast monsoon is set to give way to an 'Autumn Tiger' this weekend, bringing with it sunny and balmy weather to Taiwan, including highs of up to 30 degrees Celsius in Taiwan, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB)

As a northeast monsoon which has been afflicting Taiwan over the past several days subsides, water vapor is starting to diminish, with the weather beginning to improve and continuing to do so over the weekend, when highs could climb up to 29 to 30 degrees in central and southern Taiwan, and northern Taiwan could see the mercury climb to 27 degrees by Sunday.

As for the weather today, the monsoon continues to loose steam, and only Keelung and Yilan are likely to see rain. Temperatures will range between 18 to 25 degrees Celsius in northern part of the country, 16 to 28 degrees in central Taiwan, 17 to 29 degrees in south, and 18 to 26 degrees in the east.

The weather on Saturday and Sunday will be even better, as the northeast monsoon weakens further, and the mercury slowly starts to rise, with mornings and evenings still remaining cooler. The high temperatures over the weekend in central and southern Taiwan are expected to climb to 29 to 30 degrees Celsius, while skies will range from partly cloudy to sunny.

Due to the large temperature extremes between day and night, people who are going for long trips outdoors are advised to bring a jacket.
