TAIPEI (Taiwan News) —Taipei City's mayor Dr. Ko Wen-je who is usually dressed in casual wear, has been nominated as one of the Men of the Year 2017 by GQ Taiwan Magazine. Mayor Ko Wen-je is well-known for his unpolished attitude, as well as his numerous media appearances and interviews as a social and political commentator. He is a fascinating figure that presents a peculiar character on the political landscape of Taiwanese politics.

GQ Taiwan uploaded the picture of Mayor Ko on their Facebook page, and from the image, we can see that Mayor Ko tries to convey the message that knowledge is power by holding a book on his hand. The photo of Mayor Ko has created a buzz amongst netizens, with some comments that the picture has too much editing and does not really resemble the usually friendly mayor.

Other men selected for the 2017 GQ Taiwan Men of the Year list include 51st Golden Bell Awards Best Actor Award recipient Chris Wu (吳慷仁), Jut Land Development Vice-President Li Yan-Liang (李彥良), Famous Michelin chef Andre Chiang (江振誠) and Taiwanese Singer Crowd Lu (盧廣仲).
