Find hand-made jewelries inspired by planets, zodiac signs at Taipei IN Style

台北魅力展 啟發自行星與十二生肖的手工珠寶

Two designers are from Taiwan and they started their business at the weekend market nearly 10 years ago

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Jewelry enthusiasts should not miss Agaric Garden's booth at Taipei IN Style which showcases an array of brass accessories, including necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, and key rings.

The designers of the brand, Chen Hung-lin (陳泓霖) and Lee Chia-shun (李加順), started their business in 2008 at the weekend market which has been quite popular among young people over the past few years.

At the beginning, their designs tended to be geometric with relatively simple decorations. After years of experience, however, they have come up with much more sophisticated and complex products.

Take one of the collections for example, which is inspired by planets and their orbits. Apart from using brass to create multi-dimensional shapes, the designers have added colorful ores and crystal balls, as if planets shimmered in the vast universe.

One may notice that some of the crystal balls have the appearance of shattered glass inside. The representative of the brand explained that those crystal balls had been roasted under low temperature for an extended period of time, rending such effect while allowing the surface of the balls to remain smooth.

The representative also said customers from different countries have very distinct preferences regarding designs and styles.

European customers tend to like accessories with extravagant and ostentatious designs, while people from Japan or China prefer smaller and low-key decorations, according to the representative.

On the other hand, Hong Kong and Thai buyers always look for very cool and trendy products.

"We have many collections for customers with a variety of tastes to choose from," said the representative.

Having operated for nearly a decade, the brand now has three shops in Taiwan. It has also expanded to Hong Kong and China.
