Daytime highs to reach 30 degrees on Thursday
週四白天高溫達30度
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – The temperature reaches a high to 30 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday, while the mercury could drop to 15 degrees at northern Taiwan due to northeasterly wind, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Occasional showers are expected on Tuesday at coastal area in Keelung, the Greater Taipei, Yilan and mountainous areas in central and southern Taiwan because of the effect of northeasterly wind, said the report.
Daytime highs in northern and northeastern Taiwan reach 22 to 25 degrees Celsius and the temperature in other areas range between 26 to 30 degrees, said the forecast.
The CWB said that the temperature might rebound to 30 degrees at daytime on Thursday and Friday with good and warm weather due to weakening northeasterly wind.
However, another wave of northeasterly wind picks up on weekends with a cold air front, lowering the mercury to 15 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan and 17 degrees in central and southern Taiwan, the CWB said.
The CWB reminds people of keeping warm because the seasonal wind coming on Saturday might be the strongest cold air this fall.
