Taiwan’s EVA Air and Starlux Airlines win world airline awards

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – EVA Air won the Skytrax awards for best premium economy class and best amenities, and was chosen as the most family-friendly airline, while Starlux Airlines won for cleanest airline in the world, reports said Saturday.

Consulting group Skytrax also ranked EVA as the 11th best airline in the world, with Starlux at No. 13 and China Airlines at No. 30, per China Times. EVA was listed in the top 10 for 18 categories at the World Airline Awards announced in London on Friday.

The airline was also awarded five-star status for the 11th year in a row. Starlux received the same designation for the second year running.

The company said it would continue to place high importance on each aspect of customer service, China Times reported. From cabin environment to food service, Starlux needs to provide travelers with a better-than-expected experience, executives said.

Last year, Skytrax named Starlux the most improved airline in the world and gave it five-star status for the first time, five years after its launch.
