Taiwan JZSG building NT$510 million factory in Tainan

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Automotive lighting manufacturer JZSG is building a NT$510 million (US$15.8 million) factory in Tainan's Qigu District after its investment plan received Ministry of Economic Affairs approval, according to the city government’s press release.

The city said the plant will introduce robotic arms, multifunction headlamp testing equipment, and related information systems as it gradually establishes a smart manufacturing production line. The investment is expected to create 60 local jobs as the company expands capacity.

Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) said the project signals strong confidence in the city’s industrial clusters and growth potential. He added that the city assists companies with preparations, including cross-agency coordination to attract investment.

Economic Development Bureau Director-General Chang Ting-yuan (張婷媛) said the company has decades of experience supplying domestic vendors with automotive and motorcycle parts, including mold development and manufacturing integration. The new facility will also install rooftop solar power and energy management systems to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.

Chang said JZSG's investment is intended to expand production, strengthen supply capabilities, and help the company transition to higher-value products.

She added that 273 projects in Tainan have been approved under the government's Three Major Programs for Investing in Taiwan, representing NT$322 billion in investment and more than 22,000 jobs.
