TSMC ranks 6th in world after market cap surpasses record NT$63 trillion

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — TSMC’s market capitalization surpassed US$2 trillion (NT$62.66 trillion) on Tuesday, making it the first Taiwanese company to reach the milestone.

The firm's share price has continued to hit record highs, reaching NT$1,975 during intraday trading on Tuesday, per Liberty Times. Its American depositary receipts also set a new record, climbing as high as US$389.18 before closing at US$385.75, up US$15.71, or 4.25%.

The top five companies by global market capitalization are Nvidia, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon, per CompaniesMarketCap. TSMC’s new market value places it sixth, followed by Saudi Aramco, Meta Platforms, Broadcom, and Tesla.

The chip giant extended its strong momentum on Wednesday, rising to NT$2,025 in early trading, gaining 3.05% to set another all-time high, per CNA.
