台北士林夜市和寧夏夜市躋身世界十大夜市
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Two Taipei night markets are ranked among the top 10 best in the world in 2026, according to a British long-haul travel agency.
In Travelbag's list released on Tuesday, Bangkok's Chatuchak Weekend Market came in first, followed by Siem Reap's Pub Street, Bangkok's Jodd Fairs Night Market, and Kuala Lumpur's Petaling Street Market. Taiwan's top spots were Shilin Night Market, ranked fifth, and Ningxia Night Market, at sixth.
New York City's Queens Night Market was listed seventh, boasting the highest average Google rating on the list at 4.6. Chiang Rai Night Market ranked eighth, followed by Los Angeles's 626 Night Market and Singapore's Bugis Street Market.
The travel agency said that Shilin Night Market, Taiwan's largest, drew 1.32 million searches and nearly 5,000 TikTok posts. It has a night safety score of 85 and a Google rating of 4.16, "offering bustling streets and local treats like stinky tofu and bubble tea.”
The smaller and more intimate Ningxia Night Market drew nearly two million searches and the same safety score as Shilin, but has a higher Google rating of 4.27. Travelbag described it as “perfect for authentic Taiwanese snacks without crowds.”
The agency compiled the list using publicly available data, ranking markets based on safety, popularity, and overall reputation. Safety scores came from Numbeo.com, search volume from Google Keyword Planner, social media attention from TikTok posts, and average ratings from Google Maps.
