Uni-President opens Tainan logistics park

統一集團開設台南物流園區

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Uni-President Enterprises Corp. on Monday opened a NT$10 billion (US$308 million) 24-hour logistics park in Tainan’s Xinshi District, marking the company’s first facility to integrate its logistics systems into a one-stop transportation service.

The company said the park spans approximately 25,900 ping, or about 85,662 square meters, with a total floor area of roughly 50,000 ping, per CNA. The facility consists of two buildings, standing nine and six stories tall. The park is equipped with smart logistics technology for room-temperature and low-temperature operations, as well as automated equipment.

Each building in the park includes a giant spiral vehicle tower on both sides, accommodating 35-tonne trucks, which allows for direct floor access for loading and unloading. The park also uses a vehicle management system with AI image recognition and electronic signage to provide real-time notifications, improving traffic flow and safety.

The company added that rooftop solar panels on the buildings can generate around 2.32 million kWh annually, enabling the company to obtain 2,320 Taiwan Renewable Energy Certificates from the National Renewable Energy Certificate Center to help offset corporate greenhouse gas emissions.

The park hosts seven of the company’s subsidiaries, including general logistics, e-commerce logistics, home delivery services, and fuel station operations. NX Taiwan, a local unit of Japan’s Nippon Express Group, has also established warehouse facilities at the site. Uni-President hopes the park’s proximity to the Southern Taiwan Science Park will help foster a logistics cluster in the region.

Company Chair Alex Lo (羅智先) said the park employs over 1,000 staff and handles up to 600 logistics vehicles daily, improving delivery efficiency for more than 1,000 7-Eleven, Starbucks, and Cosmed stores in southern Taiwan.

The company plans to build additional logistics parks across Taiwan, including a facility at Taichung Port, scheduled to open next year, and another in Taoyuan’s Yangmei District, set for 2028. Its fourth park, with an investment of NT$23.5 billion near Taoyuan International Airport, is scheduled to open in 2029.
