Wildwood in Taipei unveils Christmas menus and New Year’s terrace party
台北原木燒烤餐廳(Wildwood)推出聖誕菜單及新年露台派對
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — As the holiday season begins in Taipei’s Xinyi District, Wildwood has announced its 2025 year-end menus.
The wood-fire grill restaurant, known for its open-flame cooking techniques, is offering a series of festive menus and an outdoor terrace party to ring in 2026.
Chef Jarry Liu’s (劉建志) approach for the season focuses on what he calls the "three nos": no pretense, no over-decoration, and no complex layering. Instead, the kitchen emphasizes the Maillard reaction and the smokiness derived from wood grilling to highlight the quality of meats and seafood.
For the Christmas season on Dec. 24 and 25, the restaurant has introduced three signature main courses available via a la carte or set menus. The Japanese A5 wagyu NY striploin is prepared through a repetitive process of high-heat searing and resting to achieve a tender texture.
For seafood, the wood-fired pesto lobster uses Australian rock lobster grilled over longan wood charcoal to release aromatic compounds in the shell, served with a buttery pesto and mashed potatoes. The bone-in Iberian pork loin is brined and sous-vided with aromatics before being finished on the charcoal grill for a crisp exterior and juicy center.
While Christmas seatings are nearly at capacity, the restaurant is also preparing for its "Hello 2026! Golden Glow Night" on New Year's Eve. The event centers on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace, which offers a direct view of the Taipei 101 fireworks.
The evening features two dining seatings. The first, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., includes a multi-course meal priced from NT$3,980 (US$126) with free-flowing sparkling and still wines. Guests in the first seating can purchase discounted standing tickets for the countdown party. The second seating, which starts at 9:30 p.m. and includes access to the terrace party, is currently sold out.
Remaining availability for New Year's Eve is limited to outdoor standing tickets. Priced at NT$2,000, these tickets include one sparkling cocktail and unlimited snacks from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. All private booths and poolside tables have already been fully booked.
Located on the fourth floor of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A9, Wildwood continues to focus on a charred, rustic flavor profile in a refined setting. In the event of rain, the restaurant provides raincoats for guests on the uncovered terrace.
