Taipei ranked world's 9th most connected city
台北在全球最具連結性城市排名中排名第九。
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taipei has been ranked the world’s ninth most connected city in a new report by the ground transportation platform Mozio.
Dubai topped the list with an overall score of 7.2 out of 10, followed by Florence, Prague, Malaga, and Vienna. Sydney, Singapore, Berlin, Taipei, and Amsterdam rounded out the top 10, according to a press release.
The ranking highlights cities where travelers can most easily reach the city center from the nearest airport. Factors measured include public transport time and frequency, estimated taxi fares, and the share of residents living near mass transit.
Taipei received a score of 6.4, with an estimated 40-minute transfer time from baggage claim to the city center. The public transport time from the airport terminal to downtown is 38 minutes.
Taiwan’s capital has the fourth shortest wait time between mass transit vehicles, averaging 7.5 minutes. The report also found that 41% of residents live close to rapid transit.
Mozio attributed Taipei’s high ranking to its proximity to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and the frequency of its transportation network. It added that with average hotel prices at NT$2,446 (US$75) per night, “the city is ideal for those seeking a stress-free travel experience in Asia.”
