Taiwan Creative Content Fest set to roll in November
台灣創意內容大會(TCCF)將於11月舉行
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — This year’s edition of the Taiwan Creative Content Fest, when creators pitch their projects for funding, is set to take place in November at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center.
TCCF has become an important platform to discover and publicize Taiwan-focused content since its launch in 2020. It showcases Taiwanese culture to a global audience while fostering cooperation and business for the nation’s content makers.
Organized by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency, it includes exhibits, forums, and pitching sessions with large cash prizes for winners. Notable successes include the Singapore-based film and TV project “Pontianaks in Taiwan” (婦仇鬼登台), and the immersive narrative project “Colored,” which has screened at major festivals.
The agency said there are 94 featured projects this year. The government-backed organization received almost 700 submissions from 44 countries, with the top sources after Taiwan being Japan, Thailand, the US, South Korea, and Singapore.
“Notably, international submissions and co-productions involving Taiwan accounted for as high as 60% of entries, underscoring TCCF’s growing recognition on the global stage and the trend of cross-border collaboration in the content industry,” the agency said. “This year’s judges praised in particular the diversity and richness of the submissions received from across the globe.”
Among the projects being pitched are a feature film adaptation of Terao Tetsuya’s best-seller “Spent Bullets,” and a localized version of the South Korean drama “Do It One More Time.”
The jury lineup for the project pitches includes Francis Chung, the producer of “Snowpiercer,” acclaimed Taiwanese actor Fu Meng-po (傅孟柏), and Luke Franklin, the producer of “Young Wallander.”
