Taiwan Lottery raises Mid-Autumn Festival jackpots by NT$450 million
台灣彩券中秋節頭獎獎金增加至4.5億新台幣
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Taiwan Lottery announced Monday it will roll out special bonus prizes across five games, with total additional prize money of NT$450 million (US$14 million).
Taiwan Lottery President Hsieh Chih-hong (謝志宏) said the 2025 Mid-Autumn bonus campaign will apply to Lotto 6/49 (大樂透, Grand Lottery), 3-Star, 4-Star, Bingo Bingo, and 39 Happy Lotto, per CNA. For Lotto 6/49, starting Sept. 16, an additional 100 prizes of NT$1 million each will be drawn.
Players win if their numbers match all six in any bonus set drawn from 01–49. If multiple winners hit the same set, the NT$1 million prize will be split evenly.
Any unclaimed bonus sets will roll over until all 100 prizes are awarded, or until Oct. 31. Starting Tuesday, players can buy Mid-Autumn edition Lotto 6/49 tickets nationwide for a chance at both the jackpot and the NT$1 million bonus.
From Sept. 15, the top prize for both 3-Star and 4-Star will double for 24 consecutive draws. From Sept. 27, Bingo Bingo will increase payouts on “Super Numbers,” “Odd-Even,” and “Big-Small” games for 16 straight days.
The 39 Happy Lotto will also raise the payout for its “2-Number Combo” to NT$1,500 per ticket for 24 draws starting Sept. 29. Taiwan Lottery said this year’s Mid-Autumn promotion marks the longest bonus period ever for 3-Star, 4-Star, and 39 Happy Lotto.
As of the end of August, total lottery sales reached NT$132.38 billion, up 13.7% year-on-year. Hsieh credited the growth to strong holiday promotions during the Lunar New Year and Dragon Boat Festival, as well as marketing that attracted younger buyers.
Hsieh urged the public to take advantage of the upcoming long weekends to play the lottery and support public welfare. September includes Teacher’s Day, while October features three holidays: Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day, and Retrocession Day.
