Teco showcases robotics, drone innovations at Taipei expo

東元(Teco)在台北自動化大展上展示機器人、無人機創新技術

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Teco is presenting robotic modules and drone motor power systems at the Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show, which runs through Saturday, per CNA.

The expo, held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, features more than 1,000 exhibitors displaying industrial automation equipment, robotics, 3D printing, smart mold systems, logistics solutions, laser technologies, and cold chain systems.

Teco said it has invested in the R&D of drone components such as drive motors, speed controllers, and batteries. It is exhibiting motors for multi-rotor drones weighing 1 to 20 kilograms, which can be used for agricultural spraying, aerial mapping, and industrial inspection.

Teco General Manager Kevin Kao (高飛鳶) said the company focuses on developing drones for industrial and commercial use and aims to help build a China-free supply chain for Taiwan's drone sector.

Kao added that Teco has partnered with the Industrial Technology Research Institute to enhance robotic module technologies. The collaboration integrates gear systems, motor controllers, and precision sensors to create lightweight, high-torque components now in mass production and used in robotic dogs.

Teco is also presenting its self-developed overhead hoist transfer (OHT) system for the semiconductor industry. Using a network of ceiling-mounted tracks and hoists, the system supports low-carbon manufacturing and smart factory development. By integrating communication and control systems, the OHT boosts production efficiency by up to 40% while also enabling inventory tracking and precise storage.

The company said its OHT system has been adopted by major domestic semiconductor packaging companies and LCD manufacturers. It emphasized that it will continue supporting local businesses in process automation, intelligent electromechanical systems, unmanned vehicles, and energy-saving solutions.
