3 firework shows to light up New Taipei's Tamsui in August

3場煙火秀將在8月點亮新北淡水

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The “Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf Summer Festival” fireworks shows will light up the sky at 8 p.m. on Aug. 10, 17, and 24.

All three fireworks shows will be launched from Tamsui Plaza and will include high-altitude fireworks tailored to each night’s theme. The 10-minute displays will combine special effects fireworks, and music to create a multisensory summer night experience.

The first show on Aug. 10, titled “Eternal Love Songs,” will use peach and pink fireworks to create a romantic ambiance, including heart and jellyfish-shaped effects set to slow love songs. The second show, “Wharf Impressions,” on Aug. 17, will feature sea blue and lemon yellow bursts with misty and cascading effects, using blue arcs to mimic the movement of ocean waves.

The final show on Aug. 24, “Lover’s Bridge,” will include arch-shaped fireworks symbolizing couples crossing the iconic bridge. Fireworks in the shape of peonies and dahlias will rain down like flowers from the sky, concluding the festival with a dynamic and romantic finale.

In addition to the fireworks, a variety of events will be held at Fisherman’s Wharf. On Aug. 10, acclaimed designer Gioia Pan (潘怡良) will open the North Coast Fashion Art Festival with a runway show inspired by fireworks and sustainable fishing, reimagining functional fishing attire in a stylish light. Food trucks and gourmet vendors will offer a variety of local delicacies.

On Aug. 17, DJ Ricky Liu (劉丞), singer Jiong Ming (黃炯銘), and the duo Kezine (張菡) and Z Chuan (朱全) will take the stage. Light electronic music will complement a menu of bubble tea, tea cocktails, beer, burgers, and barbecue.

New Taipei Metro has invited renowned folk singers to perform live on Aug. 24, pairing nostalgic ballads with the final fireworks show. Weekend markets around the venue will feature a range of food and game stalls.
