台灣長榮航空連續十年榮獲SKYTRAX五星級肯定

EVA also named cleanest airline in the world

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – EVA Air has been declared a five-star airline for the 10th year in a row, while also nabbing awards as the world’s cleanest airline and for its food in economy class, reports said Wednesday.

Consulting firm Skytrax unveiled its World Airline Awards, known as the Oscars of the aviation sector, at the Paris Air Show Tuesday, the Liberty Times reported. The choice of the winners was largely based on opinions from the flying public about 325 airlines and airports.

Apart from winning in the categories for the world’s cleanest airline, the cleanest airline in Asia, and the best economy class onboard catering in Asia and in the world, EVA also finished in the top five for several other categories, including airport service and flight attendants. Overall, EVA Air came out as the 12th best airline in the world, while its closest Taiwanese competitor, Starlux Airlines, finished at No. 18.

EVA President Clay Sun (孫嘉明), who was present at the awards ceremony in Paris, thanked staff for their performance and promised the company would continue to improve its service. This year, the airline would introduce the Boeing 787-9 to let premium economy passengers enjoy a business-class-level environment, Sun said.
