Taipei Tourism Exposition set to kick off
台北國際旅展即將開幕
350 exhibitors to participate, featuring tourism organizations and Taiwan's top airlines
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The Taipei Tourism Exposition will run from Friday through Monday at the Taipei World Trade Center.
The event, themed "Land, Sea, and Air: A New Experience," symbolizes the post-pandemic shift toward a more open, diverse, and borderless era of travel. Organizers estimate the event will attract around 300,000 visitors.
This year, the number of participating exhibitors will reach 350 companies, a nearly 40% increase from last year. Participants include tourism organizations from 10 countries, Taiwan's four major airlines, leading travel agencies, and luxury hotels, per CNA.
According to organizers, this year's event will feature a Korean tourism-themed exhibition, with South Korean actor So Ji-sub scheduled to meet fans. The Japan Tourism Agency will design its booth with a train station theme to bring a nostalgic atmosphere. Visitors can also enjoy traditional Japanese magic shows and Edo Daikagura performances at the event.
Lo Hsuan-hung (駱炫宏), chair of the Taipei Association of Travel Agents, said that since last year, the number of travelers in Taiwan has continued to grow, with outbound tourism rebounding to pre-pandemic levels. This trend has also brought an increase in inbound visitors, Lo said.
Ever Fun Travel Services Corp. Deputy General Manager Tsai Chin-hui (蔡錦惠) said the company will offer special deals on autumn foliage and aurora tour packages. China Airlines will hold a flight ticket raffle at the venue, while Tigerair Taiwan and Eva Air will also offer discounted airfare deals.
Tigerair Taiwan added that it will host a “Taiwan Day” event on June 17 at the home stadium of Japan’s Hanshin Tigers baseball team. The first pitch on the day will be thrown by Tigerair Taiwan Chair Huang Shih-hui (黃世惠) and former Hanshin Tigers player Hsiao Yi-jie (蕭一傑).
South East Travel Service Co. will offer special deals on European tour packages at the event. EZ Travel Service Co. will promote a buy-one-get-one-free offer on group tours to Japan, along with a lucky draw. Hung-Ta Travel and Tours Co. will offer a special nine-day Australia tour package priced at NT$82,800 (US$2,750).
