ABV Caribbean Restaurant offers 8 typical Paraguayan dishes
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — ABV Caribbean Restaurant in Taipei launched a “Flavors of Paraguay” month on Monday to promote cuisine from the South American nation.
A limited-time menu features eight typical Paraguayan dishes, which were approved by the Ambassador of Paraguay to Taiwan, Carlos Jose Fleitas Rodriguez. The event will last from May 1 to June 30.
The Paraguayan-style grilled beef short ribs are slow-grilled with the bone to lock in the meat's juices and texture. They are the perfect dish to showcase the country’s charcoal barbecue culture.
Chipa Guazu is a classic Paraguayan corn cake made with onions and cheese and found on every street corner. It is often eaten with grilled meats.
Paraguayan Pork Sausage is made by hand and uses fatty chorizo and a blend of traditional spices. The sausages are then grilled for a smoky aroma and rich meaty flavor.
Vori Vori de Pollo is a cornmeal dumpling chicken soup that is rich and comforting.
Pasta Frola is a guava jam pie adorned with a lattice top. The filling is a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness with layers of rich, fruity flavors.
