Tourism Administration holds promotional events in 3 Indonesian cities
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A Taiwan Tourism Administration delegation is holding promotional events across three Indonesian cities from April 20-26.
The group, consisting of 33 representatives from 15 travel and hospitality-related organizations, is stopping in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Medan, according to the TTA.
Under the theme “Have a Drink in Taiwan,” the events spotlight bubble tea and Muslim-friendly popcorn chicken, amongst other dishes. Activities include DIY workshops for creative tea bags and tile-pattern brooches, and Instagram stickers inspired by Taiwanese imagery
The TTA hopes to foster engagement between Taiwanese and Indonesian travel operators and offer more travel packages to boost the number of Indonesian visitors.
In February, the TTA set up an office in Jakarta to work closely with Indonesian travel agencies and organize travel seminars. The administration also tapped Indonesian celebrity Mikha Tambayong Mahenra as a tourism ambassador.
Last year, the number of Indonesian tourists visiting reached over 224,000, an 11.14% increase compared to 2023.
