Taipei (Taiwan News) – Bluerider ART, a pioneering contemporary art gallery founded by visionary Taiwanese female entrepreneur Elsa Wang (王薇薇), has expanded its global presence to Los Angeles, while also upgrading its flagship Taipei space to further its mission of bridging Eastern and Western art.
Following a decade of impactful presence in the art capitals of Taipei, London, and Shanghai, Bluerider ART announced a significant expansion of its global footprint with the inauguration of its new space in Los Angeles.
This month marks the official launch of Bluerider ART LA, a substantial 15,000 square-foot gallery (464.5 square meters) situated in the vibrant Manhattan Beach district.
This strategic move underscores Bluerider ART's ambitious international growth and distinguishes it as the first contemporary art gallery of Chinese origin to establish a permanent presence across three continents: Asia, Europe, and North America.
Since its establishment in Taipei in 2013, Bluerider ART has operated under the guiding principles of "defending the spirit, transcending culture, and crossing borders."
This ethos has fueled its commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and exchange between the aesthetic sensibilities of the East and the innovative expressions of Western contemporary art.
Eschewing fleeting exhibitions, the gallery strategically invests in establishing long-term, self-operated spaces within key global cities. This facilitates deeper engagement with local art scenes and the cultivation of lasting relationships.

The gallery's evocative name pays homage to the influential early 20th-century expressionist group Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), spearheaded by Wassily Kandinsky.

Adding another layer to its strategic development, Bluerider ART recently announced a significant upgrade to its flagship space in Taipei.
Consolidating its previous galleries in the Ren'ai and Dunren areas into a prominent new location on Dunhua North Road signifies the gallery's evolution as it enters its second decade.
This move is a transition from its initial grounding in Taipei's "alleyway culture" to a more internationally focused role as a vital bridge for "international cities, connecting East and West."
The opening of the revitalized Taipei gallery is set to take place on June 5.
The inaugural exhibition at the upgraded Taipei space will be the powerful "Rising in Fire: Hantoo Art Group — The Making of Taiwan’s Art History." This landmark exhibition is a tribute to the Hantoo Art Group, a pivotal collective in Taiwanese art history that navigated significant societal shifts with artistic resilience.
Featuring a compelling selection of over 50 works, including paintings, photography, and sculptures by the group's thirteen members, the exhibition will provide a comprehensive overview of their artistic journey and indelible mark on the trajectory of Taiwanese contemporary art.
"Rising in Fire: Hantoo Art Group" will celebrate its opening in Taipei with a reception on June 7, before traveling to Bluerider ART's London gallery for its UK premiere on October 16.
