Taiwan’s China Airlines works with Apple AirTags to track lost luggage

台灣中華航空與 Apple AirTags 合作追蹤遺失的行李

Function switches off after 7 days to guarantee privacy

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – China Airlines and Apple are combining their luggage system and AirTag tracking to help travelers find their luggage faster, reports said Tuesday.

The collaboration would prove especially useful in the case of passengers losing their luggage and in the event of delays, the Liberty Times reported. In the past, travelers could only take their smartphone to airline staff to make them understand the situation.

Under the new system, the carrier’s luggage transportation system has been integrated with the AirTags. As soon as the missing or delayed piece of luggage has been found, the tracking function will cease.

The owner can also switch off the tracker. Also, the system ceases to work after seven days, safeguarding the owner’s privacy, according to China Airlines.
