India views Taiwan as partner against Chinese DeepSeek AI

印度視台灣為對抗中國 DeepSeek AI 的合作夥伴

India to present its own AI model within months

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – During a news conference Friday about the impact of Chinese AI model DeepSeek, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said Taiwan was an important partner in the field of technology.

Reacting to news that China had created an AI app of its own, India said it was working on a similar project, per CNA. Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said there were already examples of close cooperation, including India’s Tata Group collaborating with several Taiwan companies.

Jaiswal said there was no timetable for new AI projects, but the Indian business world was eager for more frequent exchanges with their Taiwanese counterparts. Conversations between several companies from both countries were ongoing, he said.

India's government is demanding that DeepSeek keep its search results on servers in India, while the country also prepares to present its own domestic AI model within the next few months.

Taiwan on Friday issued a security alert against the AI products developed by the Chinese startup.
