TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwanese steel company YC Inox began manufacturing operations at a new facility in Turkey at the start of 2025.
The US$80 million (NT$2.6 billion) plant, located in Kocaeli Province east of Istanbul, specializes in producing steel pipes and plates. The 53,000-square-meter factory, part of the Dilovasi Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, employs over 400 workers, according to Turkiye Today.
The facility’s initial annual output is estimated at 20,000 metric tons, with plans to increase production in the coming years. YC Inox already operates another steel mill in Turkey, which began operations in 2022.
Local media outlet Dunya reported that the company has plans to establish at least three additional steel manufacturing facilities in Turkey over the coming decades. YC Inox views Turkey as a strategic hub for future exports to markets in Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Founded in 1973, YC Inox operates steel mills in Changhua and Yunlin in Taiwan.
