Alien cat Amow explores area through three chapters
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — A light show depicting an alien cat landing on Earth will illuminate Taipei’s Four Four South Village in December.
The area has been hosting night shows since 2022. The “Amow is Coming!!” exhibition, running from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the central plaza, blends science fiction, art, and history, per CNA.
The exhibition is centered around Amow, a virtual IP character created by the Frees team. Conceived as an alien street artist, Amow explores Earth's culture, language, and history.
The three-part show builds in intensity. It begins with “Discover,” depicting the moment Amow arrives on Earth, per Koha.
A beam of light streaks across the sky, signaling Amow's arrival. Soft, colorful lights illuminate the building, reflecting Amow's curiosity about the historic Four Four South Village.
The second chapter, “Make a Friend,” sees Amow touring the village in the “MovingStage,” a custom black truck. A vibrant light party features colors and shapes dancing to the music, symbolizing the blending of diverse cultures.
The final chapter, “Future,” is a dazzling display of light, evoking a fireworks show. This chapter envisions a future where Amow and humanity coexist, inspiring hope for endless possibilities.
Seen through Amow's eyes, the show reimagines the village's architecture through dynamic light and sound. Frees aims to bridge visitors with the past and inspire visions for the future, inspiring positivity and optimism as the new year begins.
