Taiwan's 4 major airlines report sky high October sales

China Airlines, Eva Airways, Starlux Airlines, and Tigerair Taiwan report strong month
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — China Airlines, Eva Airways, Starlux Airlines, and Tigerair Taiwan reported record sales for October on Monday (Nov. 11) citing increased demand for passenger and cargo services.
China Airlines reported sales of NT$17.13 billion (US$530 million) in October, up 6.56% percent from a year prior and up over 7% from the previous month, per UDN. The airline said flights to Europe were almost 85% full on average, while flights to Prague were nearly 90% full.
China Airlines said passenger revenue was up 6.76% from a month earlier. It added that its cargo revenue increased by over 20% to NT$5.74 billion in October compared to the same period in 2023.
Meanwhile, Eva Airways recorded NT$18.24 billion in October sales, up 4.06% from a year earlier. Passenger revenue totaled NT$11.25 billion and cargo revenue reached NT$4.99 billion during the month.
Eva said demand for long-haul flights to Europe and Canada remained strong and flights on these routes were almost 90% full on average. Demand was also higher for destinations in East Asia.
Taiwan’s newest carrier Starlux Airlines said sales were NT$3.10 billion in October, up 48.45% from a year earlier. Tigerair reported sales of NT$1.30 billion, up 6.7% compared to a year earlier.
